Yes, I have THAT judo move down pat. No, not really. I had my plate in my hand containing saurkraut with a fork stuck under it and I was reaching for the microwave door to retrieve the sausage to add to it. Yep, you guessed it. I was leaning instead of standing right in front of the microwave. I went to open it with my left hand and the plate in my right hand. The next thing I knew was, my feet were in front of my face and I bumped the table with my left shoulder, knocking a small container of guacamole onto the floor. Then it was thud, bounce, bang…..the guacamole container exploded under my butt. But hey, on the bright side, my plate was still in my right hand with it’s contents intact. And my youngest son was at home in his room directly under the kitchen. He was there, helping me up before I knew it, trying not to laugh as he described the extent of the guacamole all over my back side. God Bless him, he made sure everything was in working order and that I had not broken anything, just bruised my pride a little. pain cream, here I come! Yep, I’ll live. I did try to convince him not to tell all his siblings, probably to no avail. The family group text mill is probably already on fire.
Luke 4:18 says, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”.
A few bruises, and a few aching muscles, but the LORD has me in His Hand. There is no place I would rather be. As Luke says in the passage above, The Spirit of the LORD is within me. He gives me the power to endure, day after day. Always, for the rest of time. Have a Blessed day, and let God heal the bumps, bruises and trials that come your way.
